Ordinand joins us on placement

Harry Frost

For many years at St Paul’s and Whitworth churches we’ve been welcoming students who are training for ordained ministry and this year we’re delighted to introduce you to Harry Frost who will be with us on placement until Easter 2021.

Harry joins our churches at a time when COVID-19 has radically changed how we do things, but no matter what the pandemic throws at us, the life and ministry of our parishes continues and Harry will be very much part of our communities over the coming months.

Here’s Harry to tell us more about himself and his faith journey.

“Hi, I’m Harry, married to Lucy with two children, Benjamin and Louis. I grew up in a non-Christian family so did not grow up going to church. However, God gave me a friend who was a Christian who invited me to his church. I was initially keen because of the free youth group breakfast, but after spending some time learning about Jesus, I realised I was a sinner in need of forgiveness and that Jesus was the only way to be saved, and I became a Christian aged 12.

“Having given my life to Jesus I soon realised that I had a passion for serving. After serving at a local church and Christian Union at university, I returned home to intern at my church and undertook Cornhill, a preaching and Bible handling course. During this time the Lord grew my love for preaching, teaching the Bible, and telling others about the good news of Jesus Christ, and I started work as the Assistant Minister. I then began the discernment process and decided to pursue ordained ministry, and once completing that process decided to come to Cranmer Hall in Durham to train.

“I’m really excited to be at St Paul’s and Whitworth and to be able to serve the people here as best I can. I am also looking forward to getting to know as many of you as I can, as well as learning more about the North East. I hope through opportunities to preach, lead services, and engage with the activities of St Paul’s and Whitworth, to gather experience that will help me in my future ministry and to serve and encourage the people here.”

A very warm welcome to Harry and his family!
